If you'd like me to make you a custom rosary, you're in the right place. I'm honored to know that you're thinking about including my handiwork in your prayer needs. But, I need to explain how this works.
The first thing to know is that while I do have a passion for making and repairing rosaries, I do not have a passion for running an online store. So, my process is a little different than others.
Process
To order a custom-made rosary, just tell me what you want, and I'll make it for you. There are just a couple of caveats:
Materials
You need to choose the following parts:
I mostly use silver-plated steel chain. It's a good strong chain and it looks incredible. I also use mostly 8mm round or faceted beads, but we can talk about other sizes.
Suggestion
If you need ideas, consider looking through the rosaries that I've made. Each rosary image includes an explanation about the materials as well as how it came to be. This will give you a good idea of the possibilities. If you see something you really like, I could just make one for you exactly like one I've already done. Or you might want to mix and match parts from various rosaries that I've done. Or you may want to shop around and choose your own unique parts. I purchase my supplies mostly from eBay and Etsy, and sometimes Walmart; I only mention those as a guide. I'm game for using parts from most any vendor.
You'll also have to figure out your budget. If you want a sterling silver crucifix and centerpiece (which are great for a special gift), be prepared to spend over $100. On the other hand, I've also made rosaries with a total cost under $10.
So, do a little shopping and browsing, then send me an email with your thoughts. We can then just setup a phone call so that we can talk it through together. I'll offer some suggestions and we'll figure it all out from there. If you and I already know each other, feel free to give me a call, send me a text message, or hit me up after Mass.
Cost
You'll cover my cost for the parts. Then all I ask is that you make a donation to the Catholic school scholarship fund where I direct all monies from this ministry. There is no profit for me.
So, just to be clear, this is not a simple sale of an item. I require two things:
Parts
There are several ways that we can handle aquiring the parts:
No matter how we acquire the parts, the cost information above still applies. If I have no out-of-pocket costs, then of course you won't have to reimburse me for anything; I still ask that you make the donation.
Note that I've also had situations where someone has an old/broken cord rosary or otherwise broken rosary of some kind. They send it to me, I disassemble it and use all of those parts (plus maybe replace anything missing), and build an entirely new rosary. Examples of this approach include Rosary #105 and Rosary #110. I also repaired this rosary in 2024, though I could have classified that as a new build instead of a repair. Suffice it to say that it doesn't matter to me where all of the parts come from.
Quantity
I'm only able to make one rosary at a time; large orders just aren't practical. Although, I had one situation where a local priest requested 25 rosaries for a group of people. That was difficult, but I did it because it was a cause dear to me. Although, it required that I clear my entire schedule for two months to make it happen. So, while large quanities generally aren't possible, I'm open to discussing any specific request.
