For several years now, I've been repairing rosaries at our annual church picnic for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Parish. This year, a friend of mine stopped by my table and asked if I'd make this rosary for her daughter who is graduating from our elementary school. The color scheme is that of Notre Dame Academy, where she'll be attending high school. The Hail Mary beads are an interesting mix of blue and green faceted glass beads (all 8mm), which are the school's current colors. I made the Our Father beads a gold/topaz color (also 8mm), as a nod to the colors of the school when I attended in the late 1970s. The centerpiece is the Miraculous Medal and the crucifix has ornate features made of base metal. I also hanged a fleur-de-lis charm from the centerpiece, as a nod to the Norbertine fathers who have been running this school since it was created in the 1950s.

I love the Miraculous Medal. The inscription reads: "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee."
