For a few years now, I've been a guest speaker for the OCIA candidates and sponsors at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, where I give a reflection on the Lord's Prayer and the Nicene Creed. Such was the case this year, and Shellie, one of the sponsors in attendance, hit me up the next day asking if I could make a rosary for her candidate for Confirmation. YES INDEED! I love doing this, especially for such an occasion.

She knew right away that she wanted green beads, so that's where we started. We exchanged a few emails and text messages, looking at examples of some of the green beads I've used in other custom rosaries, and we settled on beads that we found from a vendor on Etsy. So the Hail Mary beads are 8mm moss agate, natural smooth beads. The Our Father beads are 8mm white howlite, some that I had used before; they have a nice faint gray marbeling. The crucifix is an ornate metal crucifix with a "Holy Spirit" centerpiece featuring a dove on the front. The back of the centerpiece lists the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, something that all Confirmation candidates learn about. As is the case with many rosaries, this one looks much better in person, where you can appreciate the detail in the green colors.
